Home Remodeling in Cobb County, GA, Room by Room
For Cobb County homes from every decade, ZenDev Home Builders & Remodelers puts design and estimating at one table. Your budget shapes the plan from the first meeting.

You love where you live. Let's make your Cobb County house work for the way you live now.
ZenDev Remodeling is the right choice for Cobb County.
Cobb County's houses are older than Cherokee County's to the north. Census estimates put Cobb's median year built at 1990. More than half of homes went up between 1970 and 1999, and the 1980s were the single biggest decade.
Two-thirds or so of Cobb homes stand alone on their lots, and about the same share of households own their homes. Many of those 1980s and 1990s houses are ready for kitchens, baths and systems that match how people live today.

Even when a project starts in one room, we look at how the whole house works.
Oak cabinets that have looked dark since the 1980s. A sunken living room you step around instead of using. One bathroom sink for a household that needs two. You haven't outgrown the neighborhood. The house was finished for a different decade.
Remodels stall when the design is complete and the estimate comes back too late to change it. Home remodeling in Cobb County can bring you a bright kitchen and a bath with room for two. You stay in the neighborhood you'd rather not leave.
Point us to the room you'd change first. We design and price it together. Our team then builds it.

Remodeling and Renovation Services
If you can dream it, we can build it.
Whether it's one room or the whole house, we're glad to talk it through. Here's where most of our remodeling conversations start.
Whole-Home Renovations
Renovate most or all of the house as one project, with design and pricing worked out together.
Home Additions
Add the space your family needs, designed as part of the house you already have.
Interior and Exterior Renovations
Rework floor plans, rebuild large parts of the interior, and improve how the outside of the home looks and holds up. That includes bathroom remodels, from a refreshed hall bath to a full primary suite.
Kitchen and Living-Area Reconfigurations
Open up or rework the rooms where your family cooks, eats, and gathers.
Performance Upgrades
Better comfort, efficiency, and air quality through insulation, air sealing, and mechanical upgrades.
Remodel or Build New?
We build custom homes too, so we can give you a candid view of which one makes more sense for you.
What to Know before you Remodel
For a Cobb County home
Kitchen remodels lead a lot of Cobb projects. Many connect a closed kitchen to the family room or swap a peninsula for an island.
Bathrooms, additions, exterior refreshes and whole-house overhauls round out the work. Whether it's one room or the whole house, we're glad to talk it through.
A 1980s house is a good candidate for more attic insulation. If you can dream it, we can build it.
Remodel or Rebuild?
Licensed as a general contractor in Georgia, ZenDev Home Builders & Remodelers takes on remodels and new homes alike.
A sound 1980s house usually rewards a remodel. On some lots, a new house is the wiser use of the money.
Since we're also custom house builders in East Cobb and across the county, we can price both.
Permitting Requirements
We confirm the permit office early, so approvals are planned rather than chased. Cobb County Community Development handles permits for unincorporated Cobb. The county's jurisdiction map shows whether your address falls there or inside a city such as Marietta.
The county code requires a permit before building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical or gas work starts. Residential remodeling permits expire after 180 days, or sooner if 60 days pass without a passing inspection. We schedule inspections to keep the permit active. The county keeps separate checklists for home renovations and home additions.

When a remodel is designed first and priced later, you find out too late that the budget doesn't work.
ZenDev Home Builders & Remodelers is a licensed general contractor and homebuilder with architecture, estimating, and construction under one roof. Design and pricing evolve together from the first meeting, so cost shapes the design from the start.
It's the same discipline we use on every custom home we build.

Remodeling Questions Our Clients Ask
Do you take on small remodeling jobs or handyman work?
We're glad to talk through remodeling projects of every size. Even when a project starts in one room, we look at how the whole house works.
Is it better to remodel or rebuild?
It depends on the house, the lot, and what you need it to do. Because we build custom homes and also remodel, we can give you a candid view of both. Sometimes the right home is the one you already own.
Is design-build worth it compared with hiring separately?
When a remodel is designed first and priced later, you can end up with a plan the budget can't cover. With architecture, estimating, and construction under one roof, we price the design as it develops.
Who designs a home addition?
We do. ZenDev Home Builders and Remodelers has architectural, estimating, and construction experience in-house, so the addition is designed as part of the house you already have.
Can you make an older home more energy efficient during a remodel?
Yes. When the walls are already open, it's often the right time to address an older home's insulation, air sealing, and mechanical systems, which improves comfort, efficiency, and air quality.
How much does a whole-home renovation cost in greater Atlanta?
It depends on the scope. Because design and pricing evolve together, you see what your choices cost while the plan can still change.
